Description
The Sono S400 adds a dedicated centre channel for dialogue and two upward-firing drivers. It decodes Dolby Atmos and creates a sense of height by bouncing sound off your ceiling.
That effect depends heavily on your room. It assumes a flat, level ceiling that is not too high, around 2.5 metres. Under a sloped, vaulted or very high ceiling the reflection will be partial and the benefit reduced. We prefer to say this before you buy.
A night mode compresses dynamic range to keep dialogue intelligible at low volume. The equaliser offers three presets plus a five-band manual adjustment.
